Water (adjust according to the required consistency)
Instructions

Wash rice, and mix dals thoroughly and soak them separately for 20 minutes.

Place a cooker on gas and add ghee, whole red chili, heeng, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and saute for 1 minute.

Add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and saute for 1-2 minutes.

Now add soaked rice, stir gently. Add soaked mix dals, give it a gentle stir, add water as per the required consistency and adjust salt. Close the cooker with the lid and cook for 1 whistle.

Serve the khichdi in a serving dish, pour some pure ghee, and serve hot with raita, papad, and chutney.
