Paneer Angara – Smoked Cottage cheese
Paneer Angara – Overview
Paneer Angara is a very unique, tasty, and flavourful dish. This is a blissful dish that will mesmerize you completely.
This dish is very easy to cook and yet the taste cannot be expressed in words.
The smoking flavour is a result of Dhungar method. The dhungar method is a very ancient way of enhancing the flavour of the dish.
Dhungar method
Dhungar (धुंआ or smoke) method is an ancient technique of smoking and infusing the flavor of burnt charcoal smoke into a dish
The smoky flavor oozes out by pouring oil/ghee on burnt coal. Place One-piece coal on the fire and burn it fully.
After that place, a metal bowl inside the pan and put the coal piece in the metal bowl and cover the dish immediately for 10 minutes.
This process will give this dish a very smoky flavour and a unique experience which you will not experience in any other dish.
Summary
Preparing this dish is itself a celebration. You will enjoy every step while cooking and you cannot hide your excitement to present this dish to your family.
It is very rich in flavor. Apart from the flavor, you will enjoy the whole process of Dhungar.
Your entire kitchen will fill with smoky flavor and a nice aroma of the dish will make you feel that you are sitting in some fine dining restaurant.
As far as my experience is considered I can pronounce this dish as “King of all the dishes”
The main ingredient of Paneer angara is Paneer, tomatoes, butter and whole spices.
The best thing about this dish is that you can cook it without onion & garlic, and without garam masala powder.
Once you are done with the dish, you can’t wait to hit your dining table, the excitement will be obvious.
You can enjoy the dish with Plain home made roti/ tandoori roti / butter naan, lachha paratha or simply with boiled/jeera rice.
Now, enough stories it’s now action time. Enjoy
